Our Idea
This race will have competitive value for mushing athletes who would not have had the opportunity to enter a distance race this winter season 2020/2021 in the Yukon, due to the cancellation of the Yukon Quest 2021 on the Canadian side of the border. We strive to bring the community closer together in times of a global pandemic, which has impacted the territory on a social, economic, and logistical scale. Our proposal includes introducing future athletes to the sport through a Musher at School Program, operating a sports event with the support of the First Nations communities along the track, boosting local involvement by reaching out to small businesses to promote their services, and hosting a challenging but unique race, organized by mushers for mushers.
