Dr Gail Jewell DVM – Holistic Veterinarian, Canine and Equine Chiropractor (http://holisticvet.ca/index.htm) will be in Whitehorse Nov 16/17 to conduct a hands on stretch class for canine athletes.

Dr Jewell will discuss how dogs communicate discomfort and pain, review basic anatomy and teach, hands on, how to stretch and mobilize your athlete on and off the trail. Gail’s approach will be to cover and entire range of stretches, by demonstrating each type of stretch, one at a time. Between each demonstration she breaks the participants into groups of 2 people and one dog to practice that stretch. Then she moves on to the next stretch and the participating dog is switched out.

Dogs participating should have a vet record of a distemper/parvo inoculation (or Titre Test) within the last 3 years.

As dogs will be switched back and forth, you will need a crate to contain your dog while it is resting between stretch sessions. A limited number of dog kennels are available at the venue.

Gail also has made herself available for individual private consultation and chiropractic treatments for a limited number of appointments outside of the Stretch Class. This is an excellent opportunity to have her assess and treat those pre-race, training injuries.

For further information on seeing Gail for a private consultation and Chiro treatment, please contact Gwen Ross:  cgr-37@hotmail.com
