Uncommon Journeys – Ibex Valley Finale

On Sunday April 3rd The Yukon Brewing Copperhaul Twister League will be holding the final race of the 2010/2011 season at Uncommon Journeys (Km 2.5 Scout Lake Rd)

(Travel west on the Alaska Hwy towards Haines Junction, then turn Left on the Old Alaska Hwy, then Left again on the Scout Lake Rd)

There will be an all new 11.5 mile trail that travels into the stunning Ibex Valley for the main race and a 3.5 mile trail for the kids and pet dog event.

Registration will be at 10am sharp at the start line on the Scout Lake rd. followed by the mushers meeting and bib draw.

4-6 dogs for sleds

2-4 dogs for skijorers

1 pet dog

1-4 dogs for the kids race

And for the first time ever the Copperhaul Twister league will hold an OPEN CLASS race (No limit on dogs) for those daring enough to try.

The Open Class race will use the same 11.5 mile trail as the main race and will go out immediately following the main race.  This event will be for prizes only and will not count for points in the league.  First Prize for the Open Class Race will be an excellent sled bag donated by Bombproof Outdoor Gear.

Following the race, the awards ceremony will be hosted by Drag ‘N’ Fly Kennels on the Old Alaska Hwy. where we will hand out the prizes for the Ibex Finale Race day and the League prizes.
